There is a special beautyin the unknown, certain topics and themes whose surfaces are enveloped by layer upon layer that must be penetrated. Additionally, as stated by T. Robert Oppenheimer, scientists live constantly on the edges of mystery, at the border of the unknown.  Their motivation is, has been, and will always be the questioning of the incognito. Science manifests itself to me as a catalyst to create.  It sparks an interest to investigate and reflect from a place of scientific knowledge and create bridges to my personal experiences.  By transforming this abstract knowledge into a first person account, making it mine, unraveling the mysteries from these personal events through this medium, and creating images that facilitate connections with others while still recognizing that they are different from me, I attempt to reach others specifically through what is mutually unknown.
